Gabriella Badillo

Filméxico 2018 this year includes two feature films, a documentary, and a shorts program with special guest director Gabriella Bardillo, for the 7th annual celebration of contemporary Mexican film.

Filmmaker Gabriela Badillo is concerned with the loss of many of the pre-Mexican languages of Mexico. After her grandfather, a native speaker of a nearly-lost indigenous language, passed away, Badillo embarked on a project to preserve the old stories in their indigenous languages using short animated films.
